Condover Hall boasts over 40 different activities to choose from and can host over 500 guests at one time – a super exciting and unique place to work!

Our JCA Receptionist & Administrator will be at the heart of our Condover Hall operation -From welcoming guests upon arrival to dealing with staff queries, you will be involved in both the front and back of house operations.

This is a full-time seasonal position from January 2023 to November 2023 with the option of returning next year.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Running the reception desk and greeting guests when they arrive
  • Dealing with guest questions and issues by phone, email and in person
  • Delivering an exception standard of customer service
  • Answering the phone and passing on messages to the relevant departments in a polite and organised manner
  • Preparing guest arrival documents and arranging room keys
  • Collating guest information and passing on to other departments in a timely manner, to include for example dietary requirements and meal numbers
  • Creating a gift shop and mealtime timetable for guests
  • Allocating guest rooms according to availability and specific requirements
  • Organising and returning claimed lost property
  • Keeping the Reception area notice board up to date with information
  • Liaise with other on-site departments and our Brighton Office team
  • Site tour visits for potential guests
  • Additional administrative tasks based on the current operation at Condover Hall

What are we looking for?

  • Previous administrative experience and/ or previous reception experience
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Competent use of Word, Excel and Outlook is essential
  • Excellent customer service
  • Work well under pressure and able to organise and prioritise your own workload
  • Happy to work collaboratively with different departments at Condover Hall and Brighton office using varied methods, but also able to work independently when needed
  • Approachable and friendly – You’ll often be the first face our guests see when they arrive!

We are looking for flexibility as this role will require working some weekends and later shifts finishing at 7pm.

The extra bits…

  • The role is to be based at JCA’s flagship activity centre, Condover Hall, Shrewsbury
  • You must be able to make your own way to Condover Hall as accommodation is not provided for this role
  • Condover Hall operates 7 days a week so working occasional weekends is essential. Early shifts may also include starting at 9.00am whilst later shifts may finish at 7pm
  • This role is paid at £10 per hour
  • This is a seasonal position to start in January 2023 until November 2023 with the option to return in 2024.
  • This is a full-time position
  • Full training will be provided including GDPR & Safeguarding
