JCA 2023 - Seasonal Bar Assistant

JCA’s flagship activity centre is Condover Hall which is based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. Condover Hall boasts over 40 different activities to choose from and can host over 500 guests at one time – a super exciting and unique place to work!
We are looking for a Bar Assistant to join our vibrant team at Condover Hall. This is a seasonal vacancy from January 2023 to November 2023 with the option of returning in February 2024.
What will I be doing?
Some of your duties will include:
· Physical tasks such as putting away deliveries, lifting and moving heavy boxes of drinks and merchandise and being on your feet for a large part of the day, including using stairs.
· Stocking up the bar, changing barrels and cleaning the beer lines
· Helping to plan and run events in the bar for our guests and staff
· Serving customers
· Cashing-up
· Performing monthly stock checks
· Ensuring all health and safety procedures are effectively carried out

Reliable

Enjoys working individually but is also confident as part of a wider team

Has great customer service skills

Flexible to accommodate varying shift times including evenings and weekends

Enjoys working with children

18+ years due to serving alcohol
We are looking for someone who has a passion for customer service and a can-do attitude. You must be able to work under your own initiative and have a keen eye for detail. This is a fantastic role for someone who is looking to pursue a career in customer service.
Proven experience in a similar position is desirable but not essential. Full training is provided!

The role is to be based at JCA’s flagship activity centre, Condover Hall, Shrewsbury

You must be able to make your own way to Condover Hall as accommodation is not provided

January to November contract with the option of returning in 2024

A minimum of 32 per week (usual hours will be 32 with additional hours on occasion)

The role is paid at £10 per hour

The role will involve working evenings & weekends

Full training will be provided including: Health and safety, safeguarding and Covid measures
