What are you looking for?
- Great role model
- Enjoys working in the outdoors
We are looking for individuals who are able to set a great example to not only our more junior instructors, but also our guests.
You must be responsible and confident in leading sessions and also be able to deal with any queries from our guests in a timely manner.
A large percentage of our guests are school groups, so we need someone who enjoys working with children.
This role is a residential position and therefore you will need to be comfortable with living away from home, we encourage a friendly, social atmosphere in our centres – a lot of our staff who have worked for us have made life long friends!
I’ve worked at JCA, Condover Hall for 4 seasons, 2017 will be my 5th. I started as an Apprentice and returned the following season as a Returning Instructor and progressed into a Senior Instructor role for my 3rd season onwards. I now train and help with the development & progression of activity apprentices.
Favorite part of my job
My favorite part of my job is building a rapport with each group I have and making sure they have an epic time at Condover.
As a Senior Instructor I enjoy training new instructors and seeing them delivering activities to groups throughout their season and seeing all the different approaches / styles of instructing they adopt to each group they are instructing.
Best work memory
Working with groups who have special educational needs is always a rewarding experience. I had a severely autistic group who managed to do participate in every activity and leave Condover Hall having gained and enjoyed new experiences.
Why should you join JCA?
If you want to step out of your comfort zone and do something different then do it. I wanted new experiences, challenges and something worth my time and effort; and I’ve never looked back!
What do you do during your time off?
When I’m off work I like to cycle, go walking, and occasionally geocaching and paintballing.
What qualities do you need to have to be a seasonaire?
Drive, passion and commitment to be successful in your role. A keen interest to always do better and learn as much as you can.
