Jack Simpson

Watersports Instructor - JCA

"I would highly recommend JCA as a company to work for"
About me

I work as a Watersports Instructor for JCA. I have worked for JCA for one season at their flagship site, Condover Hall. While primarily a Watersports Instructor I am also qualified in teaching land-based ropes activities such as climbing and abseiling.

Favorite part of the job

I have really enjoyed my first season with JCA. While all of the sessions I run are varied and enjoyable, kayaking, canoeing and raft-building are my top picks for my favorite part of the job. Seeing guests develop their paddling, communication and teamwork skills during my sessions really motivates me to be the best I can be at my job and approach every day with a smile on my face.

Best work memory

While there are a whole host of great memories from my time working for JCA, I would say having some of the class adventure groups in this year has been a highlight, these sessions are so fun to instruct due to the self-guided learning approach.

Why should you join JCA?

I would highly recommend JCA as a company to work for, whether you are looking to start a career in the outdoor sports industry or whether you are a seasoned instructor looking for a new opportunity. At JCA you will meet people with similar interests, goals and aspirations creating a highly motivated environment in which to work, socialise and develop as an instructor.
