What will I be doing?
As an Assistant Chateau Manager you will have a broad and varied role – focusing on staff development, as well as being customer focused to ensure we maintain our fantastic CSQ scores. Assistant Chateau Manager’s are the heart and soul of the chateau and form part of a strong and experienced management team which has a combined seasonal experience at the Chateau of over 35 years. Every day is different, but you will alternate each week between AM and PM shifts, giving you a difference and varied shift pattern. AM shifts will focus on breakfast and room servicing, whilst PM shifts will focus on restaurant service, evening entertainment and cashing up.
You will also be in control of 2 or 3 departments of the business (ie: Consumables ordering/control, supplementary income streams, activity evaluations, etc) all of which will play a key part in ensuring that the Chateau runs smoothly.
As Assistant Chateau Manager you will spend a large part of your day planning and ensuring that staff are in the the right place and doing their job to the highest standard – you will also be involved in their development to ensure they have the highest level of training and support throughout their time with us.
What are you looking for?
- Previous experience in either a supervisory/management role
- Excellent communicator
We are looking for someone who is motivated and enthusiastic about working in hospitality. The Assistant Chateau manager must have experience of working in a similar role, and be able to support and motivate our team.
I first started out as a General Assistant at the Chateau in 2007, in 2008 I was promoted to Assistant Manager and have completed 6 summers with Travelbound.

Meeting so many diverse people from different countries and walks of life. Everyday is different with new challenges.
Best work memory
We recently helped to plan and run our first big wedding, seeing the results of that and how successful it was, was truly rewarding.

What do you do during your time off?
I love to travel and explore, so I try to do as many visits during the season as possible and also like showing new staff all the amazing local sights…WWII beaches, Mont St. Michel, Bayeux….
